Circuito Città d’Arte della Pianura Padana is an association composed of 9 Municipalities: Brescia, Cremona, Lodi, Modena, Monza, Parma, Pavia, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia in two different regions in northern Italy, Emilia Romagna and Lombardy. The 9 cities have created a touristic circuit that takes its name from the valley of the Po river, the largest plain in Italy. Apart from the territory, the cities have other elements in common: all boast ancient, well-preserved, and charming historic centres; all have a lively cultural life with particularly varied programmes; all cities are located near areas of natural interest, and preserve a delicious tradition dedicated to food and wine.
Associazione delle Città d’Arte della Pianura Padana is a territorial brand able to satisfy visitors looking for new itineraries through places of interest and tasting tours that tickle the five senses. Even if the cities all offer praiseworthy touristic attractions, their precious historic centres are open air museums not packed with tourists, but places where you can enjoy architectural beauties in a relaxed way and get to know a modern art city, in a dynamic and authentic time. Not far one from the other, you can combine itineraries that stretch across several cities and their surrounding areas during the same holiday. The cities are also well served by airports, an excellent network of streets and well-connected train stations.
The objective of the Circuito is to offer potential tourists a quick and practical information system on the main points of attraction of the cities, typical products, and the most important annual events, so that tourists can easily and effortlessly draw on different informative sites to create custom itineraries.
The Circuito is an innovative “territorial marketing” form, an indispensable tool to seize the unique opportunity offered by EXPO 2015. Our cities are located in a strategic position, and because they work in close collaboration it is possible to create a strong service network for visitors.
