Pianura Padana (Po valley)

An out-of-town trip? Or a weekend to escape the city? A different holiday? To all these questions, only one answer: the art cities of Pianura Padana. This is the largest plateau in Italy: towards the east it stretches on the low paths of the Veneto rivers, and is broadly called Pianura Padano-Veneta. Nationally, it has the highest concentration of inhabitants and economic activities. Over an area of 41,850 square km, only 1/8 of the national territory, Pianura Padano-Veneta hosts 14,850,000 inhabitants, over a quarter of the Italian population.

On a plateau that stretches from the feet of Alps to the Adriatic sea, rich in history and natural environments, 10 cities to be visited, admired, tasted, and fully enjoyed. An experience to live on your own, with a partner, or with the family. Art and cultural itineraries to plunge into an exciting past. Theatres and concert halls to hear the biggest names in music that lived here. But also luthier workshops, where you can try and play a viola or a violin virtuously shaped. Trattorie and restaurants to taste specialities, but also cooks that teach ancient recipes; 'acetaie' where you can taste balsamic vinegar; cheese farms where you can see how Parmigiano is made; museums to try the printing process or try a hat on. Everything can be done on a bicycle... Allow yourself to be tempted by these experiences!
